Village Fayre

Bolsterstone St Mary’s Village Fayre is held on the first Saturday in July.  Come rain or shine it is always a great day out for all the family!

Bolsterstone Male Voice Choir Concert

The world famous Bolsterstone Male Voice Choir (BMVC) perform a concert at St Mary’s in December each year.  This year’s concert is on Sunday 20th December (tickets available from Church and from Choir members).

 

Last year, we were delighted to host an additional concert  to commemorate Remembrance Sunday.

Flower Festival: “Let’s Celebrate”

The Flower Festival 2012 celebrated the events of the past 60 years, since the Coronation of Queen Elizabeth II, with particular emphasis on Sport in this Olympic year.

 

As well as specific  Festival events, the church was open for visitors to view the floral displays that formed the centrepiece of the Festival.

10-13th September:  Archbishop John Sentamu led the Crossroads Northern Bishops' Mission to Sheffield  - lots of events were held in our area, including a Sunday service on 13th September in Stocksbridge.  Further details here.

Palm Sunday 29th March

10:30 am         We are delighted that this joint Holy Communion service, which formally marks the launch of the Mission Partnership with Stocksbridge Christian Centre, Deepcar St John’s and St Matthias Stocksbridge, will be led by Bishop Steven of Sheffield.  The service will commence in Bolsterstone Village Hall (across the village square from St Mary’s) at 10.30am, followed by a procession across the square to church for the main part of the service.

St Mary’s Annual General Meeting is held immediately after the 10.45am morning service on Low Sunday (the Sunday after Easter).  This is an opportunity for members of the congregation to find out about what the Parochial Church Council and other relevant groups and individuals have been doing on behalf of the church and to influence future developments.  Those on the Electoral Roll are also eligible for nomination to the PCC, for which there may be up to three vacant places.  A bring and share lunch is held after the meeting.  This year’s meeting will be on Sunday, 12th April 2015.

 

A Memorial Service for those who wish to remember and pray for lost loved ones will be held at 6.30pm on Sunday, 12th April 2015.  To have a departed loved one remembered at one of these services, please  contact Reverend Hilda Isaacson (see Contacts link at the top of this page).
